A circular economy has something unique that does not exist in the linear economy - an infrastructure for items to be returned for recirculation. Field trials taught us that people don't want to line up at a customer service desk to return reusables. A simple self-serve return bin would not do the trick either as there needs to be a way to identify the items being returned. We give the world our latest innovation - a Bag Teller Machine or a BTM. It is a teller machine because it can perform functions such as checking the deposit status or reward points associated with the reusable item, if applicable. An ATM is a familiar interface around the world. So, why not give people an ATM-like experience, build for everyone?
