1. What is the Innovation?
If you forget your reusable bags, you can borrow ChicoBag smart reusable bags for a refundable deposit at Target or CVS. You can track your bag usage in the ‘Mosaic for Beyond the Bag’ App to earn points and get rewards.
2. Are these bags used?
ChicoBag inventory includes a mix of new and used bags.
3. Are these bags cleaned when distributed?
Used bags are sanitized and cleaned by a professional off-site laundry service before redistribution in stores.
4. Can I wash the bag?
Yes. Bags can be machine washed and hung to dry.
5. Do I need to wash the bag before returning it?
No. All return bags will be disinfected and cleaned before recirculating back to the stores.
6. How do I stuff the bag into the attached pouch?
The pouch is sewn to the inside of the bag. You simply turn the pouch inside out. Look for the carabiner at the bottom of the bag, then stuff the bag into the pouch.
7. Do I need to download the ‘Mosaic for Beyond the Bag’ App to use the ChicoBag?
Yes, the ‘Mosaic for Beyond the Bag’ App helps you keep track of your bag reuse, your reward points and your contribution toward reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It even has a Bonus Wheel to help you earn more points every time you spin it.
8. How do I use the App?
You use the App to register your bag, return your bag, keep track of your reuses, sustainability contribution, and reward points. There is a “How To” video on the App and this website to show you how to register, reuse, and get a refund for the bag.
9. How do I download the ‘Mosaic for Beyond the Bag’ App?
You can download the ‘Mosaic for Beyond the Bag’ App from AppStore or Google Play if you have an Android phone.

10. Do I need to pay to download the ‘Mosaic for Beyond the Bag’ App?
The ‘Mosaic for Beyond the Bag’ App is Free to download and use. There is no cost to you.
11. Is the ‘Mosaic for Beyond the Bag’ App tracking me?
‘Mosaic for Beyond the Bag’ App does not track users
The App uses GPS location to track bag usage, but only when the bag is physically scanned. There is no active GPS tracking on the bag itself.
Only the bag usage is tracked at the moment of purchase, reuse or return.
No personally identifiable data is shared.
There is an RFID chip embedded in the tag.
This RFID does not track the user at any time, data logging only occurs when the tag is physically scanned.
12. Where do I return the bag after I’m done with it?
You can return the bag at the check-out by asking the Associate. You will need to have a receipt and return to the store where you purchased the bag originally.

13. If I received a bag from Target, can I return it to CVS and vice versa?
No, you can only return the bag at the original participating stores where you first purchased (borrowed) the bag which will be one of the following locations:
Target - 2485 El Camino Real
CVS - 352 University Ave
CVS - 855 El Camino Real
To receive a refund, you must return at your store of purchase and have your receipt for proof of purchase.
14. Can I return a damaged, dirty or unused ChicoBag?
Yes. A damaged bag can be returned at the store but only after registering the bag in the ‘Mosaic for Beyond the Bag’ App.
15. How do I return?
You may approach the checkout register. Note that you must return the bag to the original store to get the full refund.

Associate scans the QR Code on the bag using 99Bridges Scanner.
Associate conducts return, following existing CVS return policy, refunding the bag at full purchase price of $3 with receipt or picture of receipt
After the scan occurs, you will receive a confirmation of return on the Mosaic App. The bag will be removed from your Mosaic-Items tracking screen.
You may return at the Guest Service Center. Note that you must return a bag to the original store where the bag was purchased to get the full refund.

16. What is the Associate scanning during my reuse?
During a Reuse, Associate scans discount code on customer’s Mosaic app to apply a $0.25 discount (per shopping trip) towards shopping purchase. Also, Associate will scan the QR code on the bag using the 99Bridges scanner to log the reuse for the Mosaic App.

17. What if I have trouble using the Mosaic App to register the bag, return the bag or track my reward points?
